QA Test Analyst
Purpose of Role
Responsibility for the deliverance of all aspects of QA within the development life cycle.
Job Description
The ability to write comprehensive test plan documents based on existing requirements and design documents. The test plans should detail environment configuration and step by test instructions to perform a test.
You will be expected to learn how to use the adopted automated testing software and create new and amend existing test scripts.
You will be expected to log all anomalies found during testing so that all issues can be tracked and then marked for bug fixing later in the software life cycle.
Responsibility for ensuring that Magnetic North products have a consistent look and feel and input into what makes a ‘good’ GUI.
Responsibility for full installation tests which includes 'cleaning down' PC's to their bare operating systems to ensure that our products work correctly under all supported operating systems.
You will be expected to ensure that the computers in the test laboratory are working correctly and where necessary, make hardware repairs and configuration changes.
When the opportunity arises you may be asked to undertake development projects in a variety of languages.
You will be expected to provide handovers to support and delivery on completion of product release sign off.

Candidates will ideally have
ISEB qualification.
2-3 years of commercial software testing experience.
Experience in testing on Windows platforms.
Experience in web based testing.

Purpose of Role
To develop software in line with Magnetic North development lifecycle using the latest technologies.
Job Description
You will be required to follow the software lifecycle from start to finish in the form of design, code, alpha test and maintain in line with Magnetic North’s processes.
You will be expected to write design documents based on requirements detailed in a PRD (Product Requirements Document) or PFRD (Product Feature Requirement Document). These design documents will be based on the Magnetic North design templates using Microsoft word.
You will be expected to breakdown the design into milestones and propose time estimates for each milestones in order to allow the R&D Director to schedule more accurately the work involved, and then deliver to them.
You will be expected to perform research on new technologies when required, and possibly deliver the results in the form of a workshop to other members of the development team.
You will be required to deliver a technical workshop to the development team for each major task relating to products. This is to ensure that all members of the development team understand the code so that we have a degree of flexibility when it comes to scheduling developers to work on the products.
You will be expected to deliver s workshop to the projects and sales department at the end of every product release to ensure all staff are made aware of changes.
